This morning, one of my co-workers asked me if I thought Jermaine O'Neal and Jamario Moon might get booed on their return to Toronto tonight. The idea never even occurred to me, but apparently Jays fans have been known to boo returning ex-Jays at Rogers Centre under similar circumstances. I'm 100% positive that O'Neal and Moon will get a warm reception tonight. Apparently, as my Drunk Jays colleague admitted to me today, Raptors fans are actually more sophisticated and classy than Jays fans.
This game is essentially meaningless for the Raptors — but the Heat are 1 1/2 games behind Atlanta for fourth place in the East so you know they'll be firing on all cylinders. Anyway, this seems like a good time to see how O'Neal, Moon and Shawn Marion have performed before and after the trade this season.

These numbers are pretty much what I would expect to see. Moon now gets to play with (and recieve alley-oops from) Dwyane Wade while Shawn doesn't, so it's not surprising that Moon is noticably more effective on offense while Marion's efficiency has decreased. Marion's field goal attempts per 36 have increased from 10.6 with Miami to 15.1 with Toronto — he's taking more shots but he's having to create more of those shots himself — something he's not very good at doing.
O'Neal's drop in rebounding is worth noting. He already wasn't a very effective rebounder with Toronto and he's been a Bargnani-esque glass-cleaner so far in Miami. I'll be watching to see if this is a sign that J.O.'s legs are pretty much shot.
I won't be watching the Raptors game live tonight, but I will tape it and watch it tomorrow. I'll try to crank out a brief post on Saturday about my impressions. Instead of Raps-Heat, I'll be liveblogging the Cavs-Celtics game at 8pm EST tonight. Feel free to drop by and keep me company in the second half — or sooner if you get too depressed watching this team.
