Note: The original intro to this blog had the Grizzlies with a record of 1-1 after losing to the Wizards on Tuesday and beating the Thunder on Wednesday. In fact, the Grizzlies have only played one game — a 96-74 loss to the Pistons on Wednesday. I didn't just make a typo or get some minor information wrong, I apparently was on an alternate universe Internet with an entirely different NBA schedule. Either that, or I might possibly have completely lost my mind today. The jury is out. Anyway, I have digital egg on my face. Feel free to mock me mercilessly in the comments.
Edited to add: OK, I figured out the mystery. I was looking at the two pre-season games on October 6 and 7. That'll teach me to rush through these pre-game posts. I'm not crazy, just incompetent. What a relief!
Start time: 8:00pm ET
Channel: TSN2
Probable starting lineups
Toronto: Jose Calderon, DeMar DeRozan, Hedo Turkoglu, Chris Bosh, Andrea Bargnani
Memphis: Mike Conley, O.J. Mayo, Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol
Five questions
1. Is there anyone out there who still thinks the Raptors should have drafted Rudy Gay instead of Andrea Bargnani?
2. Does anyone know if Iverson is playing tonight?
3. Prop bet: Who's going to dunk on Hasheem Thabeet first? Bargnani, Bosh or DeRozan?
4. When you're an NBA GM and you either sign or trade for Zach Randolph, aren't you essentially admitting that you hate your fans?
5. Does O.J. Mayo win the award for "Most Disgusting Food Concoction if you Combine Somebody's First and Last Name?"
