Is it a coincidence we've been losing ever since he's gone down?
Just like Steve Nash or Paul Pierce or Wade, Parker is going to MVP push by NOT playing and the team realizing they can't win without him. |

This is a moot point until he returns...if they bust out an 8 game winning streak, there might be an argument.
I'm leaning towards Raps are way better with him then without....but the lackluster play might have more to do with the sucking. Parker hardly dominated under the glass. |

In last night's broadcast Chuck indicated that Parker is training with the team and is fine running straight, it's just the lateral movements that are still a problem. It sounded like he could make his return against Seattle this weekend.

There is a reason Parker was known as the best non NBA player prior to this season. It is no surprise the defence has faltered during his injury. His positioning and movement off the ball are excellent, a lot of the easy baskets that we see the opposition get now simply dissapear when Parker plays because quite often he will cut-off either the passing or driving lane even before the opposition has time to react. From what I have seen Rasho and Parker are the only Raptors who know how to play positional defence. Parker also appears to be a master along with Mo Pete of running of screens to get position on the offensive end of the floor. The number of wide open shots Parker and Peterson get is impressive although admitadly they are usually from the perimater. |

He seems to be able to play defense or at least do a decent job at playing defense against star players... while Mo sucks this season. Also, Mo's offense is just not present during games. Dixon is good on offense, but usually the undersized SG on defense.
Parker is a good shooter and him not playing is definitely the reason why we are losing. |

when i first saw parker play, a few things popped out at me. first, he has a great looking jump shot and has good body control if he needs to face to one direction or the other. the other thing is that i noticed really long arms. the more i thought about it, maybe it is because he's one of the few players that actually has his arms extended while on defense. while joey is standing 3/4 upright with his arms within 6 inches of his sides while playing off the ball, parker has his arms out and is actually disrupting something. i can't say enough good things about the guy

Yes, probably not the most talented player we have - that would be Bargnani, and then maybe Bosh, but he is certainly the smartest and hardest working player we have. Qualitities that are not in abundance these days.
Probably the most complete, all-around player we have, and it has become obvious why he was the best Euro player the last few years. |

I wouldn't say MVP of the Raptors...but he is a lockdown defender and he's vital to have on the floor in order for the Raps to succeed. I'm a huge AP fan. Speaking of underappreciated players on the Raps...How bout Rasho? I see the little things that he does that aren't noticed even by the commentators on TV. He is a good positional defender (as mentioned earlier), he slips off pick and rolls effectively, and he's decent on the boards. I remember Stephen A Smith before the season started...he was on Off the Record...obviously he was blasting Rasho. I think it's not only Parker...but Garbajosa and Nesterovic who are instrumental to the raptors' success. Garbo was guarding Curry in the Knicks game...and he couldn't get good position on the block b/c of the defense of Garbo. The Euros (and I include Parker because he played there) bring a good fundamental skill set that's been lacking in past seasons.

AP is a glue guy. He makes things run, I wouldn't call him the MVP of the team, but he doesn't make mistakes.
When is the last time you saw him make a stupid play, a bad turnover or take a bad shot. |
