The Jays signed Victor Zambrano to a minor league contract, adding him to the mix of an already over flowing possible rotation...he won't be ready to pitch till midseason, but if he can fully recover from his elbow problem he should be an excellent pickup. Not counting his 5 games last year, he could have likely been another 10 million dollar man this offseason, but due to the injury he sustained we get him for the veterans min..

A nice pick-up. Hopefully one of these reclamation projects work out for Ricciardi this season. Halliday and Burnett are fine, but Gus Chacin is a bit of a Josh Towers waiting to happen. I'd like to see either Macgowan or Marcum step up, but if they can develop a bit further - Macgowan needs to learn to be more of a pitcher instead of a thrower - then I think the Jays should wait.

I was looking on the list somewhere of the Blue Jays top ranked prospects over the last 15 or so years. Wells, Halladay, Rios, etc. Every single one of them turned out to be a good player--except McGowan. And McGowan won that title twice. I'm hoping that it was just his injury and mismanagement by the GM, and that McGowan will still turn into a top starter.
And as for Zambrano, the only thing I know about him was that I once confused him and Carlos Zambrano in a fantasy league, to my own demise. I have since educated myself as to the difference.
