And Wash refuses to beat NJ... they coughed up yeat another game tonight. We'll need 2nd place to get Wash.
It was pretty sad. Up 5 with 2 minutes to play, and then NJ gets three fastbreaks in a row. New Jersey is so terrible. And despite being only two games back of Washington now (with the tiebreaker), they might still have a problem getting 6th place. Their next game is away to Cleveland, and that starts 4 games in 5 nights which includes a home and away series with the Knicks, who have no incentive to tank and can beat them. I cant see them doing much better than 3-2 in that stretch.
DC plays Miami tomorrow now, which after two horrible games versus Charlotte is by no means a loss. That is followed by a game against Atlanta. If they win those games, the Nets are pretty much toast. Worse case, they will go 1-1 and their last two games are against Orlando and Indiana, one of which will probably be firmly locked into 8th, and the other with no incentive to play. As long as the Wiz can go 2-3 in those games (entirely possible), NJ has to go 4-0 after losing to the Cavs on Thursday night.
So hopefully we can still expect a game against DC. If not, at least I'll be able to see the Raptors live in the playoffs in New Jersey
