How about TJ Ford?
Bargs at center?

If TJ and Jose both dont play the Raps have a 1% chance of winning the game. If both can play thats great but hopefully they can be effective. I will be depressed if the Raps last game has D-Mart starting at point.

Finally, I am going to be at home and get to see the Raps extend this series to a Game 7. I'm shocked... I was able to get first row tickets in the second level two days before the game. What a travesty... this team should move to Brooklyn immediately.
I cant wait to see Mitchell's surprise... basically Mo Pete will be the point guard and Calderon will play center. Seriously though I think the injuries could be a blessing in disguise for this team. They look like they've been folding under the pressure all series, and maybe playing shorthanded will take the pressure off... and maybe it will increase the pressure on the Nets too if they cant get off to a blazing start.
But even if we lose, at least I will be able to say I saw the last game with Mitchell behind the bench and Mo Pete in a Raptors uniform.

Official game time is now 8pm.
Time to man up, this game is on bosh's shoulders. I don't understand his inferiority complex, if its going to be the last game of the year destroy your body and go inside...no more god damn jump shots from 19 feet out!
LETS DO IT!

This works surprisingly well for me in NBA 2K7 with TJ and Jose both injured. :-)
Have a great time at the game! Rock some signage!

Mitchell's Surprise?
The obvious surprise: Calderon is healthy and starts, a la Jason Kidd. Smitch considers this "surprise" leaking as revenge for him not realizing Kidd was healthy.
The more ingenious surprise: Parker starts as PG. (What, you really think SMitch is going to trust MoPete as PG after this regular season?)
The stupid obvious surprise: Martin starts as PG. (Or Dixon. That counts here too. But in this situation, Martin > Dixon.)
The "even Smitch isn't that stupid" surprise: Bargs starts as PG. Smitch claims that "the front office wanted to see him use Andrea more."
The oscar award surprise: TJ is just acting up during practice on orders from Smitch; he's actually 100% healthy.

There's no way the Raps win this if they don't focus 100% on defence. No matter how lucky they get on offense or how on fire Bosh gets...they need to get stops and play smart basketball.
Handsome_Boy
May 3 2007, 01:19 PM
^ yes
i think getting bargnani some touches is gonna help us out, especially if we play a big lineup because jefferson or vince is gonna have to guard either bosh or bargs, and we'll be able to get some fouls on them. we have the depth to deal with fouls on our guys, the nets don't
most importantly, we need to play hard, focus and not waste possessions either on offense or D. if the raps players get us to game 7, i'm sure the ACC fans will be able to do the rest

I THINK, it serves the raps well to be underdogs. favorites, at least on record, was not a good position for them to be in.

here's the other thing that has to happen.
bosh has to not only have a good game, but show he can dominate. he hesitation, no pause, no thing. get the ball, know what you're going to do and do it. be it post up, 19 footers or whatever.
no more 20 soft points. they all have to be statement points. so far, all the statement points in this series has be scored by Calderon, Parker, Mo Pete, and even Ford.
Bosh's points seem to be complementary.
Handsome_Boy
May 4 2007, 09:59 AM
how good has mo been for us so far? he seems like a man on a mission when he's out there compared to some of the other guys.
you're right about bosh needing to dominate. we are used to playing when bosh is doing our scoring and we need to get back to that. we need tj and jose's energy to battle kidd, not to score the majority of our points.
it's a friday night, so i'm probably gonna be trashed when i'm watching this game, so i don't want to have to kill someone if the raptors lose.

Wakin up today to see that the Warriors just smoked the Mavs. Seriously folks, stranger things have happened, we can take this tonight. Especially since Smitch is our starting PG now!
vincecarter15
May 4 2007, 02:04 PM
^ lmao. I know Smitch's surprise already. He's gonna put Luke Jackson into the starting line up and have no particular PG to start with. When that obviously fails, he's gonna throw in Juan Dixon.
This is assuming both Jose and TJ are out for tonight. But i think both will play for sure cuz this game's kinda big.
You have to wonder, if CB is getting run over by the likes of Jason Collins and Mikki Moore, what will happen if the Raps move onto the next round and face stronger bigs?
For the love of God...Go Raps.

Dixon should not play.
