This is a fantastic move by Ainge. He's still only 27 (at the start of the 2008-09 season) and if anybody can keep D-Miles in line, it's KG.

Note: Before anyone else says it, I don't think he would have been a good fit on the Raptors. We don't have a KG on this team.

Injured knee aside it was always his attitude that was in question, but your absolutely right Scott. If KG, Pierce and Allen can't get his head in the game then no one can. sad.gif

"Fantastic"? LMAO!

First of all, he's going to miss the first 10 games of the 2008-2009 season due to some drug infraction. Secondly, he's played in 40 games in the last three years (He's missed the last two seasons entirely). All in all, it's a good gamble by Ainge (It's the same logic behind re-signing Tony Allen and signing Patrick O'Bryant and drafting JR Giddens and Bill Walker, they're cheap and young and there's no risk involved as he looks for guys to fill the roster) if Miles is healthy but I could think of at least a hundred adjectives more suitable for this move than "fantastic", he's just roster filler until further notice.

It's a low-risk, high-reward signing. So yeah, I think it's a pretty great move.

High reward? Based on what? He got a non-guaranteed deal and will have to make the team in training camp. I don't see the "High Reward" in this scenario, if he makes the team he's the 9th or 10th guy off the bench. Just because a player costs you next to nothing financially doesn't mean it's a high reward signing, it's more likely that the player will have no impact on the team at all. You can't just throw out random sports cliches and use them to claim an insignificant move is a "fantastic".

OK, fantastic is overstating it. I'll give you that. Let me downgrade it to "very intriguing" because the Celtics are the perfect fit for D-Miles. They've instilled a no-bull, winning culture there and they won't tolerate Miles' previous foolishness. If he can get his head right - which can happen, just look at Stephen Jackson - he's still a very talented, gifted player who once put up this stat line in a game: 47 pts, 12 rebs, 5 blks, 4 stls. I know it's just one game but it shows what he's capable of. I could see him being a very effective energy guy off the bench for the Celtics.
efram the retarded rabbit
Who would have thought Rajon Rondo who have got a ring before either Melo or Lebron.
