Baron and co. somehow find themselves in the Air Canada Centre, where a bunch of Raptors are waiting. What's gonna happen?

Jose Calderon's going to school Baron Davis and dunk on Foyle from the free throw line. I hate Mike Dunleavey. He always kills us. What a bastard. Whenever we leave him open he makes any kind of shot. Baron has a passion for shooting 3s...and more 3s. As long as we can contain Dunleavey, Richardson..and Murphy, also Fisher....To hell with it. We lose this game sad.gif

Warriors CHOKED against Houston last night.

And Houston stinks too...all that talent and no gameplan.

I'm sure Sam will mess this up somehow, maybe he'll bench Bosh the entire game for farting during practice. nonono.gif

The Raptors should hire Matt Millen so he can draft another power forward this year and claim that he will be able to co-exist with Bosh and Villanueva.

Another loss. fantastic.

Why take it one game at a time? Let's take a look at the next few games:

vs Philadelphia
@ Orlando
@ Houston
@ San Antonio
@ Detroit

The optimism on this board is just so touching. I think I'm gonna cry *sniff* hold me Dipset.

We'll beat GS and San Antonio, and then lose 11 more games and then win another just as everyone's getting tired of losing. It'll go like that all year and we'll finish with like 16 wins.

Not just that, I have platinum tickets to that game. I don't want to have to walk up all those stairs while sulking about a blowout.

(PBI, in a strange twist of irony, the tickets have a picture of Chris Bosh going for a layup against... Andre Iguodala.)

Must you torment me? curse.gif

Sorry, sorry, I have to be optimistic... clap.gif

You know picking Iguodala would have been a....bad pick...I mean who wants to draft a 20-year old swingman with freakish athletic ability and tremendous defensive potential? Not me. I'd rather have the 24-year old center who works hard in every practice with no upside, thank you.

Of course it would be a bad pick. I mean, swingmen are a dime a dozen right? We are aiming for Rudy Gay right? Not every day you get a big man who can set Malone-like picks and do no look passes right? And aren't we getting Ron Artest? He's a good defender right?

(See kids, with a dose of unhealthy optimism, you can justify anything)

There's nothing wrong with that at all, after all, you play to win, at least according to 29 other general managers in the NBA...

PickedBeforeIggy, we get it man. You hate babcock but why do you have to bash him every chance you get. leave him alone for atleast one post. Give the man a break. Let him leave.
forsakenMarz
If it wasn't for PBI the rest of us would be stuck in separate rooms of a mental institute, trying to figure out why our amazing roster didn't make it to the finals. Every board needs its fair share of pessimists as well as optimists.
Swirsk_Is_Back
^does anyone here actually think we have an amazing roster?

We all know we suck, the difference between PBI and the rest of us is, we don't focus strictly on the negatives. We have a young team that needs to grow up before we can have any hope of winning games. Some of us are willing to accept rebuilding and some of us (PBI and a few others) aren't.

Orestes
*cue post from PBI about how our rebuilding process is a scam and how we should be more like chicago*
forsakenMarz
Why should we be more like Chicago? They aren't going anywhere unless they sign someone pretty damn good in the offseason. Otherwise it's just a bunch of young talent developing to a level that will get them to the playoffs but never to the championship.
Swirsk_Is_Back
Before last season chicago had 6 consecutive lottery seasons:
3rd pick in 04 (7th pick through PHO)
7th pick in 03
2nd pick in 02
4th pick in 01 (2nd overall through LAC)
4th pick in 00
1st pick in 99
28th pick in 98 but they had a win pct of .260

-I'm sure there is more, but i am too lazy to look it up.

Raptors are working on their 4th consecutive lottery season:
7th pick in 05 (16th pick through Phi)
8th pick in 04
4th pick in 03

Chicago has sucked harder and longer than the raptors, so it only makes sense that they would have better/more youth.
Captain Haddock
Chicago rules, I love Luol Deng more then I love sliced bread.
And I'm a man who loves his sliced bread.
I think as long as they have White Jesus, they're situation is always better than ours. We need a great PG before we can generate hope and having only seen Roko Ukic play breifly, I can say the talent is there, but not whether it'll be enough.
Weren't we playing Golden State tonight? Who started on about Chicago?
Swirsk_Is_Back
whats the over/under on the number of dunks J-Rich will have tonight? whatever it is...i say OVER!

Chicago's great but they don't have that one superstar that will win games for them. Kirk Hinrich is close, similar to a John-Stockton, but he's playing out of position and isn't the guy they need. They need a strong low-post offensive scorer, and unless Sweetney goes on some sort of extreme-atkins diet with lots of running and cardio, they won't have that. They have 20 million in cap this season, so it will be interesting to see who they add to their roster.

And as for Golden State, I have a feeling we'll beat them tonight.
The Real X Factor
I'd pay HUGE money to see Hoffa hammer Mike Dunleavy. I usually envy the players that other teams have... but am I glad we don't have Dunleavy.

Oh, I've accepted rebuilding, I just don't believe you can put a timetable on it (Babcock says three years) or predict how long it will take. You also can rebuild much quicker by trading your best asset for cap space (Like Phoenix and Denver did) but since Babcock couldn't do that, our hands are tied until 2007. There are several ways you can approach a rebuilding process and they all don't have to follow the "Tank and Draft" method that Babcock has instituted.

No, I don't need to go there again. It was merely an example that you can turn around a franchise almost overnight if the GM has their head screwed on tight for one offseason. It only took Paxson a year to clean up the mess that Krause left behind and he was smart about it and played off the desperation of other GMs (Isiah and Grunwald to name a few).

I'm going under. There's just no way we can lose to the same team within a period of weeks via another blowout. I don't expect to win tonight but I do expect a close game.

Our second unit is stinking it up bigtime... down 3. Rose - 6 minutes, 1 airball, no points. Ouch.

WE LOSE! Got raped big time. Its usually us raping other teams with our 3 point shot but now ya'll feel what it feels like when the other team gets hot. Damn the Warriors.

Swirsk_is_back my man..You were damn right. Sam Mitchell and Matt Bonner are dating big time and they'll go on a honeymoon soon after their secret marriage.

You know what? I really like this guy right now. He absolutely killed us whenever he was open. Trey after Trey.

Highlight of the Game: Joey Graham dunk but also the J-Rich breakaway dunk

I didn't even watch the second half. I don't care anymore. They suck that bad.

this isnt funny anymore.. like seriously.. we need to win now.. WOW confused.gif

They played pretty good against a GS team man for atleast the first half. Then they slacked off because they knew it was the 3rd quarter and if a thousand or more fans left the arena it would minimize the traffic after the game resulting in the arena getting empty in less than 15 minutes. Whatever they did, Mission Accomplished!
forsakenMarz
Well... two games in a row Joey has put someone on a poster. There's one positive...

Wow, Calderon has a great future ahead of him in the world of fantasy basketball.
